Krause Law Sponsoring Inaugural Make48 in Kansas City

Krause Law is excited to be sponsoring the inaugural “Make48,” which is a unique new “invent-a-thon” event being held today (April 17) and throughout this upcoming weekend at Kansas City’s Union Station.  After hearing from a distinguished array of speakers today and then receiving a late-afternoon challenge to create a specific new product idea, teams of inventors will have a 48 hour period to design a new commercial product, build a physical prototype and prepare a pitch for the product.  Pitches and an awards ceremony will be held Sunday afternoon, April 19.

The lead sponsor for the event is a local company, called The Handy Camel, LLC, founded by Tom and Amy Gray, that specializes in discovering new brands and innovative products and then taking them to market under strategic licensing arrangements.  See www.thehandycamel.com.  The winning Make48 team will have an opportunity to offer any commercially viable ideas to Handy Camel.

Make48 is hosted in Kansas City by The Inventors Center of Kansas City.  Similar Make48 events are being planned for other cities across the US.  For more information on Make48, see www.make48.com.

Make48 is one more example of the growing importance of entrepreneurship in the Kansas City region and the emerging infrastructure of events and organizations necessary for supporting inventors and entrepreneurs.  Krause Law is especially pleased to be an active player in this community, and to support innovative events like Make48.
